As you saw in my last news posting, my bike is in need of a tire. Further, I haven't the financial resources at this time with which to replace said tire.
This latest event is yet another reason, in a growing case, for which I should try and get a vehicle, something to act as back-up for when the bike is down.
I feel a little apprehensive at the prospect of adding another monthly expense in the form of car payments, more insurance, etc.
But I also believe it is time to get that vehicle.
Tonya, the gods bless her, has been a stout supporter of my riding to and from work for the last 20 months. Yet she worries so much; seeing news about another biker down on the highway, or some idiot that hit someone, ran them off the road...the articles are endless. None of which helps assuage her concern for my well-being.
Twenty months...and it's been about 1,000 miles per month to boot!
I checked my odomoter, Saturday.

It ready 19, 946. Yup, just shy of 20,000 miles!
I wish I could say, Yeah, I put them miles riding from Canada to Mexico, the long way around!
But that is not the case. I simply rode my bike out of necessity; I don't own a car.
But that may change, today - I'm considering the following as my "Cage" (in no particular order):
2008 Suzuki Grand Vitara
2009 Suzuki Equator
2009 Suzuki SX4
Is it a coincidence that, like my bike, the manufacturer is Suzuki? Eh, whatever.
Truth is, of the various car makers out there it seems Suzuki is bent on selling its vehicles at considerably reasonable prices versus comparable makers like Nissan, Kia..nevermind the domestic car makers - they're too high for my budget.
Anyway, I'll post some pics later, assuming I get into a vehicle.
