Back in May I posted that I had finally took the plunge and bought a car (see Journal entry)
Since then I helped my daughter, Kayla, buy her own car at the same dealership.
Both cars turned out to be ok - not the ultimate in gas mileage or performance (i.e., they're no porsches) but for basic transportation they have certainly fulfilled that purpose.
Lo and behold, when Kayla made a trip to drop off some paperwork at the dealership, she discovered the dealership lot to be completely empty, and the place locked up.
The damned dealership is gone!
Now, I don't really care, as dealerships go; I already had a vibe about the place because of the extreme mark-downs they had on all their stock and the fact that they were not really pushing any late model (2009's) cars, nor did they have many - maybe 15 or so?
So now I will have to take the cars to another (1 of 2 remaining, now) Suzuki dealership that is in McKinney, Tx, about 20 miles from me. Not a big thing, though it does make me wonder if they, too, will be gone soon.
I suppose I can always try and trade the cars in after a year or so, and by then choose a dealership that has weathered the economy and isn't ailing, either.
Oh, and if you're in the market and can pay cash, I'll accpept any offer over $10,500. That's to break even, too.
