Welcome
After 8 years
JournalIt is my extreme pleasure to announce to you all that my fiance of 8 years and I tied the knot on Friday June 26, 2009.

It was a very simple and quick ceremony; we went before the Justice of the Peace, said our I do's and that was that!

Now, in case you're wondering, man, that was lame: onlyl a J.o.P in attendance?  What about bride's maids, best man, and all that?

Tonya and I decdied to get this part over and done with, first.  Now we will begin planning a proper wedding ceremony, one that will likely take place on a beach, we'll be barefoot, and if you play your cards right, will be in attendance...wering funny hats, or some other weird and crazy thing.

It's been a wonderful 8 years.  I have every confidence that it will be another great 80 years.
A Question of Moods
JournalFor the past couple of years I've been listening to an artist I discovered quite by accident.

It was while viewing some photoshop tutorial on youtube; it had a particular song as it's background music.

The music intrigued me.  I wanted to know wht artist it was.  In the comments I found a name: Weh

I ventured far and wide into the depths of the web and finally arrived at the artist's web page: http://www.weh.erikevju.com/index.html

What I found further gratifying is that this amazing artist offers his music freely, to be downloaded by all.

How to repay such a generous endeavor?  I have offered to help spread the word about him, Erik E., A.k.a. WEH

Click the read more link to view links to his music.

Enjoy, and share this with others.
Cage Selected!
JournalWell, boys and girls, I went and bought me a car.

Looking for basic transportation, I researched things, made comparisons.
And finally decided on a compact little hunk of...well, it's got 4 wheels, is brand new, and was well under $10K.

A 2008 Suzuki Reno -- Yeah, you read that right: a 2008.  I always go for the ones that didn't make it off the lot and end up last year's model - great breaks on prices.  Remember that!

Following are some quick phone-pix for you to ooh and ahh...

Which Cage to Buy...Hm
JournalAs you saw in my last news posting, my bike is in need of a tire.  Further, I haven't the financial resources at this time with which to replace said tire.

This latest event is yet another reason, in a growing case, for which I should try and get a vehicle, something to act as back-up for when the bike is down.

I feel a little apprehensive at the prospect of adding another monthly expense in the form of car payments, more insurance, etc.

But I also believe it is time to get that vehicle.

Tonya, the gods bless her, has been a stout supporter of my riding to and from work for the last 20 months.  Yet she worries so much; seeing news about another biker down on the highway, or some idiot that hit someone, ran them off the road...the articles are endless.  None of which helps assuage her concern for my well-being.

Twenty months...and it's been about 1,000 miles per month to boot!
I checked my odomoter, Saturday.
Will It last 400 miles?
RiderAh, the perils of commuting 84 miles a day on your bike.

Case in point: I noticed the tread on my rear tire this afternoon while doing yardwork; the color of the tread caught my eye as I rolled my lawnmower back into the garage...

news: worntread.jpg

What sucks about this situation?  It's Sunday.  Payday is 5 long days away.  And even then, if I want to buy the tire for under $100 bucks, I have to ORDER IT ONLINE! Another 5 days, at least, before I recieve the new tire.

I've gone looking for new tires around Dallas - they all absolutely want to gouge your ass with prices that are just plain too high.

I mean, I don't mind paying the labor to have it done - it's a necessity, right?  But the price of the tire itself: over-priced!

I checked at Plano Suzuki Kawasaki.
1st, Oh-ree-N-tohs...now ruskies?
SecurityIn this day and it still floors me how much spam and crap is prevalent out there.

I mean, what it the satisfaction here?  What in the name of <insert favorite diety here> do these folk derive for mass-mailling, mass-registering, and mass(turbating) the genitals of the web?

Is it really that orgasmically reciprocating to these would-be script monkeys to send this crap out day after day?

I try and picture their conversations:
To Bitch, or Not To Bitch
JournalIn recent months I have been feeling a little more...what's the term...frustrated? Disillusioned? Offended?
Anyway, the topic of which I speak is my present position, my job.  I work as a Senior Support Technician for a company in the hospitality industry that provides a point-of-sale solution as well as hardware.
By many standards it is an above average place to work.  As long as you are not working in the support departments.

Let me explain...
I am a Craft Brewer!
JournalAs forwarded to me by my friend and colleague, Underbrewer:

I Am A Craft Brewer from I Am A Craft Brewer on Vimeo.

After viewing this, ask yourself:  Aren't all the big corporations falling apart now?

Consider, the big 3 american car makers - all going to hell ina handbasket.

It's now the smaller car maker...the quality car maker that is succeeding.

As is any individual with the tenacity and verve for their respective endeavor.

I say to you, dear reader: Fear not the wind of change, for it serves to dry the sweat from thine own brow! (quote by yours truly, 2009)
Rock The Gear!
RiderI wanted to give a quick honorable mention for a site my fellow rider, Underbrewer, gave me:
Rock The Gear

Here is their blurb -
At RocktheGear.org, we are dedicated to producing a community for current and prospective motorcyclists where information on personal protective apparel is available, positive influence from current riders is abundant, and the choice to ROCK THE GEAR is supported and rewarded.

Now get over there, get educated, then get soem proper gear on that ass of yours!
Gimme Somethin' to do!
GraphicsAlright squirrels and girls!

I am inviting you to send me a pic or three for me to play with/work up/retouch.

When you send me something, do include any requests on what you'd like done to the image, like:
Oh, please remove that big-ass mole from my nose!
Or, Can you add a little more/less bulge around the bust area?
Or how about removal of background, like that telephone pole that is growing out of someone's head, or the half-naked biker that insists on toasting your presence at the Grand Canyon...with his man-juice!

...exactly.

So, if you're wanting someting nice, representative of you for MySpace, Adult Friend-Finder, FaceBook, Christmas post card, let me know.
1st job's on me.
Other work requests are accepted for a nominal (read that as cheap) fee.

Do contact me if you have any questions on how to get the images/pictures to me - I will provide instructions.
Whoa! I'll Take 2, Please!
JournalI would so own me a couple of these, even with just plain ole double-ought buckshot shells!

I must say, it defenitely appeals to the "Pancho Villa" in me, heh heh
